This week we’re going to highlight the best reasons to use The Knot when you first get engaged. These are just a few of our favorite Knot features but it’s a great way to get started if you’ve been feeling overwhelmed by the amazing number of things that the site has to offer.
New To The Knot? First Thing’s First: Create Your Account
When you head over to TheKnot.Com you’ll be invited to Sign Up. You’ll create your account and can add as many details as you’d like once the account is created.
Having an account isn’t necessary to view most of the items on the site (articles and the like…) but it allows you to save (we like to think of it as collecting) ideas and to build your own vision and personal site.
It also gives you a platform from which to contact vendors, venues, and other people you might want to connect with!
Getting Excited Yet? Use The Knot To Craft Your Vision Of The Perfect Wedding
From your account dashboard, you can click on buttons like “Wedding vision” and “Website” to select and create your vision of the big day.
Along the top, you’ll also see a menu with “Ideas and Advice” and “Planning Tools” options.
These are great places to start when you’re just starting, learning, and exploring.
If You’re Ready To Have Some Fun And Give Your Guests Some Guidance, Make A Wedding WebSite
A good wedding website is always in style. From your dashboard, you can create a wedding website and choose from over 100 options to get started.
The Knot doesn’t expect anyone to be a web design master and so they guide you through the process pretty darn well.
On The Hunt For The Perfect Vendor or Venue? Hit The Vendor Search Tool ASAP
When you’re ready to get down to business and really plan your event, The Knot is the perfect place to start.
Along the top of your screen, you’ll see a “Local Vendors” option. From there you can search for vendors by category and location.
From a vendor’s page, you can read about the person or company, see photos, read reviews, request quotes (if the vendor has made that an option like we have), and even contact the vendors directly from your Knot account.
